Orange & Toasted Almonds Green Beans

Orange zest adds a zing to the enticing, nutty aroma of toasted almonds that add crunch and an attractive garnish to fresh green beans for a side that’s sure to become a family favorite.

Tip: To toast sliced almonds, place in a small dry skillet and cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until fragrant and lightly browned (2-4 minutes).


  • 1 lb. green beans, trimmed
  • 1 tsp. olive oil
  • ½ tsp. orange zest
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds, toasted


  1. Place a steamer basket in a large saucepan, add 1″ water, and bring to a boil. Put green beans in the basket and steam until tender (5-6 minutes).
  2. Toss the green beans in a large bowl with remaining ingredients.
