This cranberry sauce makes a wonderful addition to any Thanksgiving spread and it’s sugar-free! It’s easily customizable to suit your desired flavor. If you want a sweeter sauce add more cherries or another date or two. You can also add spices such as cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg to warm up the flavor!
Ingredients
- 12 oz. cranberries
- 1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
- 6 medjool dates, pitted
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1 Tbsp. orange zest
Directions
- Cover your dates with hot water and allow them to soak until softened (1 hour).
- Once dates have softened, add the dates and orange juice to a blender and blend until smooth.
- Add cranberries, cherries, date mixture, and orange zest to a large pan over medium high heat. Once cranberries begin to pop reduce heat to a simmer, stirring occasionally (15 minutes).
- Remove from heat and allow to cool. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
