This cranberry sauce makes a wonderful addition to any Thanksgiving spread and it’s sugar-free! It’s easily customizable to suit your desired flavor. If you want a sweeter sauce add more cherries or another date or two. You can also add spices such as cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and nutmeg to warm up the flavor!

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. cranberries
  • 1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
  • 6 medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp. orange zest

Directions

  1. Cover your dates with hot water and allow them to soak until softened (1 hour).
  2. Once dates have softened, add the dates and orange juice to a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Add cranberries, cherries, date mixture, and orange zest to a large pan over medium high heat. Once cranberries begin to pop reduce heat to a simmer, stirring occasionally (15 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool. The sauce will thicken as it cools.
