Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

Push the sugary pumpkin spice latte aside and enjoy the pure taste of pumpkin in this beautifully spiced warm smoothie that is packed with vitamins, fiber and heart healthy fats. If you don’t have these spices on hand, you can also use Pumpkin Spice.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup quick cooking oats
  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 Tbsp. ground flax seed
  • 1 cup skim milk, warm
  • Dash cinnamon
  • Dash nutmeg
  • Dash ginger
  • Dash cloves
  • Dash allspice

Directions

  1. Combine oats and water and microwave. Under cook so that it remains watery.
  2. Add oatmeal, pumpkin, spices, ground flax and milk to the blender. Blend on low for a few seconds and then high until well blended. Thin with additional skim milk if needed.
