For a fresh variety on a nutritious party favorite, make this white bean hummus. Adjust the garlic to your taste. To mix it up, play around with adding finely chopped vegetables, like artichoke and spinach or roasted red peppers. Serve with fresh, whole-grain pita bread.

Ingredients

  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 20-ounce can no-salt added navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 2-3 tablespoons water

Directions

  1. Puree all ingredients thoroughly. Add water a little at a time until hummus reaches desired texture.
