This delicious Chinese flair on a classic barbecue side dish brings a balance of sweetness and spice that works well with your favorite grilled foods or as a side with homemade Asian cuisine.

Ingredients

Dressing:

  • 3 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp. grated fresh ginger
  • ¼ tsp. white pepper
  • ¼ tsp. crushed red pepper, or to taste

Slaw:

  • 3 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup thinly sliced bell pepper
  • ⅓ cup sliced scallions
  • 1 (8 oz.) can bamboo shoots, drained and thinly sliced

Directions

  1. Whisk dressing ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Toss slaw ingredients with dressing to coat.
