Popcorn is a wonderful, whole-grain snack food that’s low in calories and high in enjoyability. It doesn’t need to lean on butter or salt, either. With a tiny bit of preparation, you can make an herb-infused oil drizzle that pairs wonderfully with nutritional yeast for a flavor experience that will wow you.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • 2 tsp. dill
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • ½ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast

Directions

  1. Microwave oil until warm (30 seconds). Add oregano, dill, thyme, and crushed red pepper flakes. Let sit for herbs to infuse oil (15 minutes).
  2. Place popcorn in a paper bag and fold closed. Microwave on high until pops between kernels slow down to one every 3 seconds (2-3 minutes).
  3. Being mindful of steam, open the bag, drizzle in the herbed oil, sprinkle on the nutritional yeast, close the bag, and shake to combine.
