A low-sodium diet doesn’t have to mean low flavor! Using garlic, low-sodium broth, onions, and pepper, this simple rice dish is packed with flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups brown rice
  • 4 cups no-salt-added chicken broth
  • 4 Tbsp. sliced green onions
  • ½ tsp. pepper

Directions

  1. Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and sauté until golden (1-2 minutes).
  2. Stir in rice and broth and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat to low, and simmer until liquid is absorbed (40-45 minutes).
  3. Top with green onion and pepper to serve.
