This sorbet is similar to granita, using fruit and juice to create a refreshing slush. Try this with fresh strawberries or raspberries or a combination of your favorite berries. Pour into popsicle molds for a fun alternative way to eat it.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen blueberries
  • 6 oz. apple juice

Directions

  1. In a food processor or blender, puree together blueberries and apple juice.
  2. Pour into a large baking pan. Place the pan on a level surface in your freezer. Freeze, stirring and scraping with a fork every 30 minutes, until the mixture is firm but not frozen solid (3-4 hours).
  3. Remove from the freezer and break up into small slivers. Pack into an airtight plastic container and freeze until solid (1 hour).
  4. Remove from the freezer about 20 minutes before serving to soften slightly. Use a wide spoon to scrape into shallow bowls to serve.
