Potato chips have a reputation for being pure junk food, but the truth is, potatoes have some useful nutrition in them, and when lightly dressed and considered in balance with your day, there’s no reason not to enjoy everyone’s favorite snack! Made at home and served with a bit of high-protein, low-fat yogurt-based dip, they can be a reasonable bridge between meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 large russet potato, thinly sliced
  • 2 tsp. canola oil
  • ½ tsp. seasoned salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.
  2. Toss potatoes with oil and salt and lay in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  3. Bake until chips are crispy, turning once, monitoring to remove chips that are in danger of burning if desired (22-25 minutes).
